Can we add a sauna to our home gym? Yes, the home gym can be a great location for a sauna and especially a custom sauna that provides the built-in look that makes it the perfect accent to the space. Instead of a clunky, free-standing box, a custom sauna is framed directly into the room so it becomes an integral part of the home gym or bathroom.

There are important sauna fundamentals that need to be considered in the design and layout which are often missed when done by a non-sauna professional. Such things as size and layout, ceiling height, ventilation, flooring, glass, and electrical are all important to understand and design around to have a proper sauna that provides a great experience. As second-generation sauna builders, our technical expertise allows us to design and build sauna spaces that are as beautifully crafted as they are highly functional.

With a full bathroom adjacent to the home gym, we were able to creatively incorporate the sauna door from the bathroom next to the shower and a large custom window opening up into the home gym to create a custom sauna that has seamless flow of health and design while being highly functional. Across the home gym on the TV wall, an accent wall with matching wood was completed to tie in the whole setting nicely. 

Custom stone work surrounding the premium Iki heater, dimmable lighting subtly built-in, and quality craftsmanship turned this into a dream wellness room retreat that will be enjoyed by the whole family for decades. From early morning workouts followed up by a sauna session to jump start muscle recovery, to a quiet unplugged evening wind down with the lights dimmed, the sauna offers a space that is incredibly special and powerful and is the ultimate investment in your family’s well-being.
